Encouraging Volunteering
The Surrey CVS Network is part of the Surrey
Strategic Partnership and contributes to the Surrey 2020 vision - 'In Surrey,
we are committed to working in partnership to improve the quality of life of
the people who live and work in the County'.
The vision for Surrey in 2020 is of a county:
- Of distinctive, confident,
caring, creative, and safe communities, where individuals and
organisations have taken responsibility for resolving the many challenges
that the county faces.
- Where the beauty and richness
of the natural and built heritage, the diversity of the landscape, the
distinctiveness of the local communities and the strength of the economy
are safeguarded.
- Where social, economic and
environmental well-being have been addressed to improve the quality of
life of the people living and working there.
The delivery of this vision is through Local
Public Service Agreements (LPSAs), which range from increasing volunteering to
improving business recycling.
The Surrey CVS Network consists of CVS
organisations with integrated Volunteer Centres, { click here ... }

The Network is a major partner of the Volunteering LPSA Project
Group, which will work together to increase volunteering in specific target
areas and in general. Building awareness of volunteering, and a desire to take
it up is essential. The group has since
2005 worked hard to develop a "Volunteer in Surrey" message, which has been
promoted throughout Surrey to raise awareness of volunteering and how it change
lives.
Volunteer in Surrey - Volunteering Changes Lives
Surrey is serious about increasing the number of volunteers and in doing
